We often hear from mums with boys that it's so hard to find nice nursery items for a boys' room. Dauwke, the face behind Belgian brand mundo melocotón and a mum of two boys, fully understood and just announced a bedding collection for as well boys as girls with wonderful color combinations. We're loving it!

Ook nog steeds op zoek naar mooi beddengoed voor de jongenskamer? Dauwke, het gezicht achter mundo melocotón - het bekende merk met de sponsen shortjes en jasjes - ontwierp nu een collectie met gedurfde kleurcombinaties. Het verwondert je beslist niet dat Dauwke een mama van 2 jongens is. Eindelijk iemand die ook eens aan de jongenskamers dacht!

Tiny Tuesdays * Denim Animals

Too many old denim trousers in your closet? Designer Myriam Mense did! So she started reusing them in her interior - on her sofa for example. "Getting a beautiful color on your denim is so difficult and all the bleaching demands way too much from the environment. It was time for change." She now started her own brand Maison Indigo with beautiful animals, made from recycled denim.

Je moet er maar opkomen om je oude jeans - letterlijk - nieuw leven in te blazen door er een vos, miereneter of olifant van te maken. De Nederlandse Myriam Mense startte onlangs met Maison Indigo. De miereneter is mijn absolute favoriet! Zo leuk!

It seems not only the Muppets are celebrating a revival. Sesame Street is everywhere these days: on shoppers in the street and at Zara and Robeez.

Liesbeth ontdekte enkele weken geleden de Muppets weer en ook Sesamstraat lijkt weer terug! Dit weekend liep ik ze ondermeer bij Zara en Robeez tegen het lijf.

What a coincidence! Just when I discovered this incredible cape blouse by Dutch kids brand Jottum, I bumped into a vintage version for mums on delicious site froufrous. I can't do anything about it, but I just love mummy & me styles.  

Wat een seizoenstopper - deze blouse voor meisjes van Jottum. En toevallig ontdekte ik ook deze vintage cape blouse op Froufrous, een site met vintage hebbedingen. Ideaal voor een Mama & Me look!

ToutPetit Thursdays * Juno Sengen

Wondering where you can find the baby bed you see popping up in so many nursery pictures? It is a Danish vintage design remake by Sebra. Originally the bed was called Juno Sengen. Blogger Nina wrote a post on it which is well worth reading. It is such a wonderful piece of furniture that I just could not resist buying it for my daughters' room. 

Je hebt jezelf misschien ook al wel eens afgevraagd waar je dat wondermooie bedje kan vinden wat je vaak ziet in kinderkamerfoto's? Het is Deense design uit de jaren veertig dat oorspronkelijk de naam Juno Sengen kreeg. Ondertussen brengt Sebra het in verschillende kleuren weer op de markt.

Freezing Fridays * Vintage Gold at Bubble London

 

Aravore was one of my favorite brands; even long time before Bubble London. I love how their gorgeous hand-knitted garments are personally signed by the Paraguayan woman who put her time and love into it. The upcoming winter collection carries lots of wonderful accessories with tiny details and garments in 'vintage gold'.

Aravore staat voor organische kinderkleding die met de hand gemaakt wordt. Meer nog: elk stuk is persoonlijk getekend door de Paraguayaanse vrouw die haar tijd in het kledingstuk stak. Alleen dat zegt al genoeg! Volgende winter staat de collectie bol van de prachtige accessoires en de kleur 'vintage goud'!

The brain behind this Vogue Enfant photoshoot unmistakingly is a huge fan of Marcel Marlier too! Marlier's Martine character has been brought to life beautifully on the pages of the September supplement of Vogue Paris. Love the fact that in one of the shots the model versions of Martine, Jean and Patapouf are actually reading a copy of 'Martine'.

Sentimental Saturdays * cassette recorder

Did you realize that our children will never know the link between a cassette and a pencil? A similar image made me chuckle some days ago, as it even took my brain a couple of beats. Maybe most children nowadays don't even know what a cassette is anymore... When I was a teen love declarations were not texted, tweeted, nor posted on facebook. Oh, no! In the good old days you would receive them by mail. In the form of a carefully wrapped cassette full of cheesy love songs. *still blushing*

De link tussen een cassette en een potlood? Ken jij hem? Ik moest er precies langer dan verwacht over nadenken... Gek, want ik kom uit een tijd dat een cassetterecorder nog héél gewoon was. Liefdesverklaringen arriveerden in mijn jeugd gewoon per post in de vorm van een cassette met melige poppy love songs. *bloost nog steeds*

I am still very much in love with Belgian author and illustrator Marcel Marlier's drawings. Ever since I was a little girl. The central character of his wonderful stories goes by many, many names: Martine, Sofia, Debbie, Anita, Sophie, Ayşegül, ... But to me she will always be: 'Tiny'.

Tiny: hét meisje van mijn kindertijd. 30 jaar later vind ik Marcel Marliers tekeningen nog steeds w*o*n*d*e*r*m*o*o*i...

Oh my... just had a huge flashback when I spotted this cute View-Master print on Pinterest. Unlike my kids, I grew up in the pre-all-day-long-television, pre-home-computer (if I don't count the Commodore 64 connected to our television screen), pre-Nintendo, pre-iPad age. My precious View-Master was the only thing that came close to moving 3D images. Old school definitely rocks!

Deze View-Master katapulteert me terug naar begin jaren tachtig. Toen er nog geen dagtelevisie was, homecomputers een werkgeheugen van 64 kB hadden en Nintendo's en iPads veeleer in de Jetsons thuis hoorden. Klik, na klik, na klik ontrafelde het Bambi-drama voor mijn ogen... Op de Bereboot ging het er gelukkig wat luchtiger aan toe. Ze zijn nog intact de View-Masters van mijn broer en mezelf. Toen oma en opa mijn kindjes van toen 3 en 5 ermee verrasten, waren ze echt wel geïnteresseerd... voor de volle 5 minuten. Later zullen ze nog om deze 'vintage' stukkken vechten. Ik geef het je zwart of wit.
