I am just so happy mundo melocotón decided to sell their range of soft velvet garments in bigger sizes (up to six years). Finally I get to dress little miss Ella in a pair of those cute velvet shorts. Paired with tights, roll neck t-shirt and boots the look is basic, but oh so cool because of the velvet fabric and fabulous colors mundo melocotón is carrying. True basics with a twist!

Scary Sundays * Halloween costume ideas

 

My kids have already started counting down to our annual Halloween party and I must admit that these beautiful photographs by Laura Pannack got me looking forward to the event too!
In 2010 Pannack was the winner of the World Press Photo award in the portrait singles category.

Nu het 's avonds vroeger donker is, begint ons jaarlijkse Halloween-feest stilaan vorm te krijgen. Max en Ella dromen hardop over de uitnodigingen, decoraties, hapjes en natuurlijk hun outfits! Voor het derde jaar op rij is het die dag: Graaf Dracumax en Heks Petronella. Zelf ben ik niet zo wild van Halloween, maar elke reden om een feestje te organiseren is een goede, niet dan? Toegegeven, deze prachtige Halloween-portretten van Laura Pannack brengen we toch wel een beetje in de mood.
In 2010 won Pannack de eerste prijs in de World Press Photo categorie portrait singles.

Sentimental Saturdays * cassette recorder

Did you realize that our children will never know the link between a cassette and a pencil? A similar image made me chuckle some days ago, as it even took my brain a couple of beats. Maybe most children nowadays don't even know what a cassette is anymore... When I was a teen love declarations were not texted, tweeted, nor posted on facebook. Oh, no! In the good old days you would receive them by mail. In the form of a carefully wrapped cassette full of cheesy love songs. *still blushing*

De link tussen een cassette en een potlood? Ken jij hem? Ik moest er precies langer dan verwacht over nadenken... Gek, want ik kom uit een tijd dat een cassetterecorder nog héél gewoon was. Liefdesverklaringen arriveerden in mijn jeugd gewoon per post in de vorm van een cassette met melige poppy love songs. *bloost nog steeds*

Fall Fashion Fridays * I'm into folk!

Le Petit Lucas is the little sister of established women's brand Lucas du Tertre. Brainchild of Parisien lawyers Clemence Le Gall du Tertre and Mary Lucas. Their winter 2011 collection has got a lovely folky feel to it. Trendy silhouettes in bold retro folk fabrics for a collection which is very now. Cottons fabrics are hand printed in India and the knitwear is handmade in Bolivia.

Bij het zien van de nieuwste collectie van het jonge Franse merk Le Petit Lucas begint in m'n hoofd spontaan het plaatje "I'm into folk!" te spelen. Trendy silhoutten in folky stofjes met felle kleuraccenten; zo kan je de wintercollectie 2011 het best omschrijven.

Le Petit Lucas is het kleine zusje van Lucas du Tertre; het geesteskind van twee Franse advocates. De katoenen stofjes worden met de hand bedrukt in Indië en het breigoed komt uit Bolivië.

Af en toe is een kleurboek zo prachtig dat je het liefst zelf aan de slag wil gaan. Zoals met dit exemplaar van de Deense designers hagedornhagen.

Sweet Sundays * sitting on a bench

Sitting on a bench, touching the sky and wondering what life will bring. Inspired by a vintage nineteen twenties piece, German brand Octopus decided to remake this beautiful children's bench.

Dit prachtstukje is een kopie van een oude kinderbank uit 1922. Dat lijkt me toch het perfecte meubel om je even neer te zetten en je veters te leren strikken?!
